In 100 open acres just north of the Columbia River along Highway 14 is a natural area rich in cultural heritage and urban wildlife known as Columbia Springs. It's a site dedicated to environmental education, offering unique programs to help students increase their understanding and appreciation of our natural environment.
In a vacant lot just behind the Three Creeks Community Library, the Salmon Creek Farmers Market will offer seasonal produce, freshly prepared foods and handmade crafts every Thursday from 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. starting July 15. The market serves as an agriculture and crafts business outlet that supports local farmers and our area's economy.
Supporting sustainability
While they're uniquely different programs serving different needs, “Columbia is proud to support both organizations for their dedication to sustainable practices and the preservation of our environment,” said Columbia VP of Corporate Social Responsibility, Laurie Kusch. “We're excited to help bring a fresh market to the Salmon Creek area and pleased to continue our support of Columbia Springs.”
Making life better!
At Columbia, we believe that sustainability is crucial to a healthy and successful future. “Sustainability continues as one of our core values and plays an important role in our daily operations, facilities and financial product offerings,” added Kusch. “Columbia's slogan is “Making life better!” and we're proud to partner with Columbia Springs and the Salmon Creek Farmers Market to make life better in our member communities.”
