May 2010 — With over 1,000 people and 500 dogs in attendance on a bright spring morning, the Humane Society for Southwest Washington’s annual Walk for the Animals raised more than $50,000 to benefit animals in need. Animal lovers from Columbia’s staff formed their own “pack” to raise almost $1,000!
Founded in 1897, the Humane Society has a long tradition of caring for animals. With the assistance of more than 500 volunteers, the Humane Society for Southwest Washington offers pet adoptions, community education, pet behavior advice, spay/neuter assistance and low-cost pet adoptions for seniors.
Through the generous support of local individuals, groups, and corporations, they are able to care for thousands of orphaned animals each year. If you would like to help or want more information, please visit www.southwesthumane.org.
