The Clark-Skamania Flyfishers held their annual spring banquet and auction on March 26.
Columbia Credit Union has supported this event for the past three years.
The event raised money in the low five figures for various projects that the club supports
throughout the year. This is the one and only fundraiser of the year for these projects.
Programs that the club has supported in the past and will probably fund again,
include four-figure contributions to Reel Recovery and Casting for
Recovery, which are both fishing programs for cancer survivors.
The group has also made significant contributions to stream restoration work,
Columbia Springs' program for "Salmon in the Classroom," various fish stocking programs
through the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and other conservation projects.
The group also has supported the Klineline Pond "Fishing for Kids Day" and Swift
Reservoir fishing day for special needs children. The club members also participate in
various clean up and tree planting projects in the area.
