Columbia supports a sustainable community
Columbia made recent donations to support Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center, the City of Vancouver/MacArthur Boulevard Master Plan, and Columbia River Economic Development Council (CREDC) at a recent business event. All of the organizations are educating, planning and actively working to make our community more sustainable.

Luncheon raises $360,000 for senior meals
As a table sponsor at Loaves and Fishes' Annual Luncheon fundraiser, Columbia Credit Union helped the non-profit raise an unprecedented $360,000 to benefit area seniors.

Yacht event raises $5,300 for Boy Scouts
An evening of food, wine, ship tours and a live auction at Christensen Shipyards in Vancouver raised $5,300 for the Cascade Pacific Council Boy Scouts on May 15.

Columbia pledges support for "Pink Power"
Columbia Credit Union pledged $25,000 to aid in building Southwest Washington Medical Center’s new breast care facility at the recent “Pink Power Strikes Again” fundraiser at Big Al’s Bowling Alley on May 8. Over 650 attendees raised $815,000 – a new record for a single fundraising event in Clark County.

Ten Grands Concert raises $175,000
The “Ten Grands” piano concert raised $175,000 to benefit the Snowman Foundation on April 5. As a sponsor, Columbia Credit Union financially supports The Snowman Foundation’s efforts to promote accessibility to the performing arts in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Ceremonial tree planted during Arbor Day celebration
The last of 150 trees awarded to the Vancouver Heights neighborhood was planted during Vancouver’s Arbor Day celebration. Columbia sponsored the trees, and Heights was awarded them during the City of Vancouver’s 150th anniversary celebration last fall.

Making prom wishes come true
As a sponsor of Operation Fairy Godmother, Columbia helped collect 2,420 dresses – 400 more than in 2007. Over 1,000 girls attended to the prom dress extravaganza.

Staff plant trees in Heights
Columbia employees will brave the cold and volunteer their time Saturday, Feb. 9 to plant trees in the Vancouver Heights neighborhood. Last year, the Heights neighborhood was named "Neighborhood of the 150th" in honor of the city of Vancouver’s 150th anniversary celebration.
