Janice Ward, Columbia Credit Union teller, is looking to donate refurbished toys
Janice Ward, a teller at the EastRidge branch, believes all service is beneficial. "Anything that makes life nicer or easier is worthwhile," says Janice. "There's room for all kinds of service in the world, so choose something you like."
Janice took her own advice when she decided to collect stuffed animals, clean them up so they look brand-new, and then donate them to her church's thrift store. "I always loved stuffed animals as a child, and I wanted to give other children an animal to love," explains Janice.

Misfit toys for girls & boys
After six months of collecting, Janice decided to share her menagerie with several organizations for more timely distribution. Now, she is hoping to find homes for about 700 cute and cuddly stuffed animals.
"I have everything from Beanie Babies to large teddy bears," states Janice, who plans to devote her energy to a different service project in the coming year.
If you know of an agency or organization that could help provide homes for Janice's orphan animals, please call her at the EastRidge branch, 360.891.4000,
