The Columbia Credit Union Board of Directors is pleased to announce Steve Kenny as Columbia Credit Union's next President and Chief Executive Officer. Following a nationwide search process Columbia's Board advanced Kenny into the leadership role for Clark County Washington's largest credit union.
Kenny, transitions into the position immediately having been the Interim CEO since May 2009 and Columbia Credit Union's Chief Operating Officer for the past two years. With a financial institution career extending more than 30 years, his leadership brings a significant amount of operational acumen holding key positions of Operations Supervisor, Loan Officer, Branch Manager, E-Commerce Product Manager and Senior Vice President Risk Management and General Services, among other roles.
Columbia Credit Union Board Chair, Chuck McDonald, summarizes the Board's decision stating, "Steve has provided Columbia members with excellent leadership and service for many years and is well established and well suited to lead the Credit Union into the next decade."
As Columbia's Chief Operating Officer, Kenny was responsible for the design and construction of Columbia's two award-winning sustainably-built branches located in Washougal and at Vancouver's Grand Central Marketplace. This achievement placed Columbia on the innovation map as not only Vancouver's first-- but Washington State's first-- financial institution with the prestigious designation of LEED 2.2 Gold accreditation.
In anticipation Kenny comments, "I'm looking forward to working with Columbia Credit Union's visionary Board of Directors. I appreciate this opportunity to direct the future of an organization that, over the past 57 years, has become an integral part of this community. I firmly believe in the credit union philosophy of providing our members with the value and tools they need to achieve financial success."
Born and raised in Vancouver, Kenny and his wife Jeanie have two grown children and one grandchild. For relaxation, he enjoys fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
