Jack retired from a long career at a local power company.
These days, he stays busy running his own radio
interference investigation business, RFI Tech Solutions.
As a longtime member, Jack Talmadge knew that his Columbia Credit Union membership came with many rewards like competitive rates, low fees, and stellar service. He hardly expected to win anything -- but that’s exactly what happened! Jack joined Columbia in 1989 and today, he’s the latest winner in Columbia’s Millionaire-For-A-Month contest.
Back in October 2009, Columbia Credit Union members opening a special 14-month certificate were automatically entered in a contest to earn extra dividends on their account, as though they’d invested $1,000,000. Each month from November to April, we’ve drawn names, and we’re happy to announce that Jack is our lucky winner for April!
“I didn’t expect to win,” said Jack. “It’s a nice surprise!”
“I’ve been with Columbia for a long time and they always offer great rates and value. I’ve never been tempted to switch my banking to anywhere else,” said Jack.
Jack and his wife, Beverly, have used Columbia for a variety of financial needs over the years. “It’s been pretty convenient to get financing for things like cars and construction projects,” said Jack, who likes to visit the Salmon Creek branch. “I don’t have as much need for financing anymore, but if I did, it’s nice knowing I can use my credit union.”
These days, he’s more focused on saving and retirement accounts, checking, and certificates. Plus, because they hold a money market account and RewardsPLUS checking, they take advantage of the great coupon deals in the free Entertainment Book they receive from Columbia each year. “We like to use it when we go out to eat,” said Jack.
And, they also like the quality of service they’ve received from Columbia. “It’s always been easy to take care of my finances with a minimum of hassle,” said Jack.
For fun, he and his wife, Beverly, like to take their trailer on trips out of town, especially to the warmth of Arizona.
