Great service inspires loyalty. Just ask Columbia members Evan and Michelle Judson. Several times each month, they make the 45-minute commute from their Portland home to Columbia’s downtown Vancouver branch. Evan and Michelle really appreciate the great member service they receive while their daughter, two-year-old Scarlett, enjoys the lollipops!
“The service that we get at Columbia makes us feel unique and that we belong,” said Michelle.
“We’re treated like people rather than customers,” added Evan.
When it comes to service, the Judsons know all about it. Evan and Michelle have both worked in the hospitality industry for 25 and 18 years respectively.
“In our line of business, it’s important to deliver personal attention and build relationships,” explained Michelle. Over the past 13 years, the couple has developed friendships with Columbia staff, exchanging stories, sharing their lives and observing special milestones. When talk turns to finances, the Judsons can count on getting the personal attention they need for everything from basic saving and checking accounts to loans, online banking and more.
“The staff at Columbia knows all about us, and we know about them,” stated Michelle. “It’s nice to have a home branch with people who know my story and the things we’re interested in because we’ve discussed it before.”
The newest part of their story includes making room for additions – to their home and to their family. They are expecting their second child in February. “We plan to get a home equity loan in the near future to fund an addition to the house,” shared Evan.
The family was also recently asked to appear in Columbia’s current crop of TV commercials. While they had fun filming a spot with CEO Parker Cann about how much they value great service, “It was hard to condense everything we wanted to say in 30 seconds!” laughed Michelle.
When they’re not busy working or filming commercials for Columbia, this active family enjoys biking, cooking and travel. In her young life, Scarlett has already been to Mexico and France, with more travel planned for the future. “Whenever we travel, we try not to be typical tourists,” said Evan. “We want to expose our children to different cultures, to be global citizens.”
Whether they’re traveling to international destinations or just across state lines, this family knows they can always come home to outstanding member service at Columbia. |
