Columbia Credit Union’s new Buckman Branch in SE Portland, Oregon recently earned Sustainability at Work Silver certification for 2018-2021 from the City of Portland’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability. Thiscertification recognizes businesses that are committed to sustainable practices and make a positive impact on our environment and the community. The action categories for Sustainability at Work certification included:

  • Transportation
  • Energy
  • Water
  • Community Engagement

In addition to demonstrating a sustainable workplace by meeting Sustainability at Work Silver certification requirements, the Buckman branch’s workspace was designed to be energy efficient and eco-friendly. The office space features reclaimed and locally sourced wood on several walls and a tech bar countertop, and a coffee bar crafted from a recycled bicycle and a recycled glass countertop.
