Columbia Credit Union McKibbin Legacy Classic Raises $46,800 for Local Nonprofits
The 5th annual Columbia Credit Union McKibbin Legacy Classic—a charity golf tournament organized by Columbia Credit Union and presented by Vesta Hospitality paying tribute to the late John McKibbin—took place August 26, 2021, and raised $46,800 for community nonprofit organizations.
John McKibbin was a special presence in Clark County throughout his life, serving as a member of the Washington House of Representatives and a Clark County Commissioner, raising funds for causes important to him and making life better for the community at every turn. The Columbia Credit Union McKibbin Legacy Classic honors his legacy by continuing the same spirit of enthusiastic charity. All proceeds from this year’s tournament supported three organizations John McKibbin loved throughout his years of community service, and in which Columbia Credit Union has continuously invested over the years: Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center’s Child Abuse Assessment (CAAT) Endowment Fund, Pearson Field Education Center (PFEC), and Leadership Clark County (LCC).
Each nonprofit was given a check of $15,600 at a presentation at the Columbia Credit Union Operations Center on October 14, 2021.
“All of us at Columbia Credit Union are proud to ensure the continuation of John McKibbin’s commitment to our community,” said Columbia CU President and CEO Steve Kenny. “Making life better is what we’re all about and that’s what John McKibbin stood for, too.”
