Where You Bank Matters
What makes Columbia Credit Union the number one financial destination in Clark County? Our people-first approach toward community financial wellness is what sets us apart. It’s why we say, “Where you bank matters.” Your money here flows right back into the community to offer lower loan rates, high-yield deposits, and widespread donation dollars. It’s good for you and our neighbors, too. In fact, take a look at the numbers.
Social Responsibility
Columbia Credit Union is guided by its core values of People, Community, and Financial Wellness. The intersection of these creates our dedication to social responsibility, demonstrated by our widespread donation dollars, employee volunteerism, and public service. In 2023, the credit union supported 61 nonprofits with $409,300 in funding, helping activate more than $7.5 million in money raised for local causes that provided needed wrap-around services.
Our staff take our community-first approach to heart as well, with our managers volunteering their time to nonprofit and community activities throughout the year, giving back an impressive 1,385 hours to local causes last year. Staff also mobilized organization-wide to support a record-breaking year for toy donations to the KPTV Toy Drive, ensuring every kid had a toy to open on Christmas Day. They also raised $47,000 for nonprofits with the Columbia Credit Union McKibbin Legacy Classic charity golf tournament, supporting CDM Caregiver Services, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, and Leadership Clark County. Finally, Columbia Credit Union employees rallied our teams and members to match a $10,000 donation to the American Heart Association with an additional $10,000 to help fight cardiovascular diseases—which claim more lives each year than all forms of cancer and chronic respiratory disease in Clark County.
Economic Development
In addition to our philanthropic dollars, we contribute to business and industry organizations to support the credit union movement and our local economic development. Last year, we supported 23 organizations such as the Association of Washington Businesses, Identity Clark County, the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, and the Columbia River Economic Development Council with more than $216,000 of backing.
