Home Loan Officer – Centralized Sales Organization

Job Information

Home Loan Officers play a key role in helping promote Columbia’s mortgage business as well as educating members and employees by providing technical expertise and developing cross-sale opportunity. Must be team oriented. This role requires a professional self-starter, who is detail-orientated with excellent work ethics combined with an outgoing, positive approach to member service. The selected candidate must possess strong judgment and decision making skills.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for originating new mortgage loans by engaging members via web chat or phone in a Centralized Sales Organization, or by contacting members who have submitted web applications. Responsible for interviewing applicants for mortgage loans and assisting in the processing of applications consistent with credit union policies and all applicable department-specific, NCUA, Federal and State Compliance, wholesale/secondary market mortgage lending rules and guidelines.Gather background information and analyze loan applicants’ credit and financial history.  Must be highly member focused and must consistently provide high levels of member service.Maintain a thorough knowledge of home loan products, programs, and procedures, possess the ability to liaison between multiple credit union departments (cross-sell), is responsive to senior management requirements and operates in accordance with Credit Union policy.Confer with underwriters to aid in resolving mortgage application problems and handle member concerns with appropriate action steps to reach resolution.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years lending experience, mortgage lending preferred
  • Will require NMLS Registration
  • Knowledge of the originating and closing requirements for conventional, FHA, VA, and non-conforming portfolio loan programs & Credit Union, State, Federal, Wholesale, and Secondary Market Policies related to mortgage lending
  • Must have experience with and be familiar with multiple computer programs including LOS systems, Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.), and other computer programs as required. Possess strong analytical, mathematical skills.  Should be proficient at financial calculators.
  • Must have superior written and verbal communications skills when dealing with members, co-workers and management.
  • Must be able to handle a large volume of detail under pressure deadlines. Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Consumer Loan Underwriter

Job Information

Columbia Credit Union’s Lending Operations Department is looking for a professional and energetic individual to join our team as a Consumer Loan Underwriter.  The position will include work on the weekends.

Responsibilities

Under limited guidance this person will process and decision consumer loan applications originated through Branch, internet and indirect channels (i.e. auto, marine, RV, personal, etc.).  Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and possess a thorough knowledge of credit union loan guidelines, procedures, and lending systems, along with knowledge of all credit union products and services. 

Requirements

  • One to three years previous consumer loan underwriting (indirect, direct, and web channels)

  • Must be able to be NMLS Registered
  • Sound interpersonal and negotiating skills experience

  • Ability to provide outstanding service and support to credit union staff, members and indirect dealerships. 

  •  The candidate must be able to make a professional and knowledgeable impression while communicating with dealers and CCU personnel.  Position may require periodic onsite visits to dealerships to sustain a high visibility for the credit union.

Network Administrator

Job Information

Columbia Credit Union is seeking a Network Administrator (FT) to interface with staff to resolve network (data and voice) related issues. This role will employ a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. The individual will coordinate and monitor network security, new applications, software upgrades, while monitoring daily activity, enforcing licensing agreements, maintaining a strong storage management program, and providing routine backups.

Required Experience

Minimum requirements for the position include, but are not limited to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable. Excellent interpersonal/written and verbal skills focused on strong team outcomes. Ability to lead, and work on multiple projects and understand business needs, in a cross-functional environment. Three to four years in IT role with emphasis on LAN/WAN design, operations, and user interfaces, firewall security, server replication, and mail delivery.  Knowledge and experience with virtualization, SAN technology (VMWare, EMC, VDI, etc.), email, and relevant platforms (Microsoft, Cisco, Juniper, etc.). Significant hands-on working knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, remote connectivity, T1, routing protocols, etc. Minimum two years’ of installation experience in PC or client/server platform environment. Minimum two years of network administration for medium-size environment (5 to 15 servers, 200 to 1,000 users)

VP Wealth Management

Job Information

This VP of Wealth Management will act as the Program Manager and primary contact between Columbia Credit Union and Cetera Advisor Networks, LLC. The position will lead and direct the department’s operations and service levels of Advisors’ sales activities of non-deposit investments and insurance products including commission and advisory, fee-based programs. The position will guide the department to provide a valuable service to members and a compliant, positive financial return for Columbia Credit Union.  

The VP of Wealth Management is responsible for the development and implementation of non-deposit investment and insurance strategies and associated tactics. The service level management and sales supervision operates through Columbia Credit Union’s non-platform model, commission and advisory, dual capacity employee program with an outsourced Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction.  The position is responsible for consistent adherence to audit and compliance requirements, reviewing FINRA/ SEC and State examination reports, broker dealer’s audits, and findings of internal audit reports, for consistent compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.  The VP of Wealth Management will remain current with industry trends and innovations related to non-deposit investments and insurance best practices around the sales of broker dealer approved products such as stocks, bonds, exchange traded funds, mutual funds, annuities, long term care and life insurance.

The position requires someone who’s worked within a financial institution, who’s able to mentor Advisors to make appropriate referrals back to other areas of the Credit Union. The individual will be expected to train and mentor Advisors to identify and successfully migrate appropriate commission-based clients to Advisory. As product manager for all internal and external department communication and advertising, the VP of Wealth Management will approve all communication and ensure broker dealer approval process is followed, and documentation is adequately archived, for audit and compliance purposes.

The VP of Wealth Management will be responsible for employee development including appraisals, development plans and mentoring to develop and recommend strategies and underlying tactics to achieve Columbia Credit Union’s core purpose, Making Life Better, through sales supervision of non-deposit investment and insurance products.

Requirements for the Position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 10 plus years’ non-deposit investment and insurance experience with a minimum 6 years’ sales management experience. Maintain positive FINRA, BrokerCheck, disclosure events relative to years of experience.

  • Life and Health Insurance licensed, Series 7, 63/65 or 66 required. Series 24 would be a plus. Certified Financial Planner certification is preferred.

  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills. Highly skilled on MS Office Suite of products on a windows environment including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

  • Prior experience with RedTail CRM, Docupace e-documents and archiving, and Remit Pro remote deposit capture is preferred.

  • Proven ability to motivate staff and make sound business decisions.

  • Highly effective, results oriented leadership talents and skills including strong problem solving, planning and organization skills.

VP Corporate Project Manager

Job Information

The VP Corporate Project Manager will plan, organize, control corporate projects of a highly complex nature, while actively participating in all aspects of the project.  The role will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals utilizing the corporate software program. The position will work with the project sponsor to define specific project objectives and manage the project scope. The individual will identify and secure necessary resources, determines and assign necessary tasks, delegate authority and motivate team members for successful completion, while managing costs and risks.  The VP Corporate Project Manager will track progress, measure performance, hold team members accountable and identify areas for improvement via reporting to all stakeholders including Senior Management.  The ideal candidate will assist in advancing the strategic direction of the Credit Union.

Required Experience

  • A degree in business or related field required. Additional project management training/certification a plus.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management with at least 2 years of progressively responsible management positions to include extensive experience managing processes, research, planning, and budgeting. 

  • Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as meeting facilitation. Able to interact well with all levels of management as well as outside professionals.

  • Must have proficiency in analyzing, documenting and presenting business processes and functional requirements. 

  • Proven experience in people management, risk management and change management.

  • Extensive knowledge of financial institution operations including e commerce, loans, deposits and delivery channels.
