Lemonade Day with Columbia Credit Union – Join Us!

Lemonade Day is a free experiential, educational program powered by the Greater Vancouver Chamber that takes kids age 9-12 on an entrepreneurial journey—teaching them everything they need to know to open their very own business! Participants learn how to create budgets, set profit-making goals, serve customers, repay investors, and give back to the community. All guided by Columbia Credit Union teachers and mentors.

Everything starts with the Lemonade Day App and signing up to join our team. Once the course is complete, our kid CEOs will have the opportunity to get a micro loan from Columbia CU to fund their small business expenses, earn $5 to put into a Spend Checking account, and can apply to sell their handmade products or services on Junior Market Day at the Vancouver Farmers Market.

COURSE CULMINATION RECAP

The 2022 Junior Market was a hit!

After completing the program, more than 200 young CEOs 6-16 years old from across the region took over the Esther Short Park on June 4th with their booths to run their businesses for a day and sell handmade or homegrown products to thousands of the Farmers Market’s consumers. Check out the recap video to get an idea of what the Lemonade Day Junior Market is all about.

Meet Oliver & Louie

After a successful day of sales, Oliver Deligio-Busha and Louie Heikkinen were named the Vancouver Youth Entrepreneurs of the Year (2022) for earning the most significant revenue at $800 at the Junior Market with their business Love ‘N Stuff. Framed crayon art, tinted mason jars, wax bead bowls & magnets, doggie bandanas, notecards & postcards were some of the products sold by these young CEOs.

“I got a lot of money! In fact, we made $800. Each of us got $400. Everything sold!” ~ mentioned Deligio–Busha.

Oliver and Louie shared this was an amazing experience and would do it again. They enjoyed seeing how it is from the seller’s side rather than the buyer.
