Breaking Ground on New Ridgefield Branch
We celebrated our continued growth and expansion in December with the groundbreaking of a new branch in Ridgefield. The credit union welcomed members of its Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, Ridgefield mayor’s office and city officials, as well as representatives from the new branch design and construction teams to gather in breaking ground at the site of the Discovery Ridge shopping center.
The new Ridgefield branch at Discovery Ridge will feature many of the innovative design and sustainability elements as other recently opened Columbia CU branches, such as: a rain water capture cistern for drought-resistant landscape irrigation; high-efficiency HVAC system; and sustainably-sourced casework and furnishings. The new branch will also offer greater convenience with safe deposit boxes and covered drive-up lanes, including a dedicated lane for a full-service drive-up ATM and night drop box—none of which is available at the credit union’s current Ridgefield branch east of I-5 at The Junction.
“Ridgefield is the fastest growing city in the entire state of Washington,” said Steve Kenny, Columbia Credit Union President and CEO. “This new branch at Discovery Ridge will make life better for new and existing members living and working in this bustling community. To complement our online and mobile access, we look forward to providing greater in-person assistance as we meet the community’s personal, business, mortgage, investment and insurance needs.”
The Discovery Ridge branch is planned to open summer 2020. At that time, our current Ridgefield branch at The Junction east of I-5 will close and branch employees will relocate to the Discovery Ridge site.
