Columbia Credit Union Launches Food Drive to Support Local Families
As the holiday season approaches, Columbia Credit Union is stepping up to support families in need across Clark County. In response to the growing issue of food insecurity, the credit union has announced a generous $10,000 donation to the Clark County Food Bank and is inviting the community to join in a branch-wide food drive running through November 29.
The initiative was sparked by a powerful moment during a leadership meeting, where a story was shared about a working family forced to choose between buying socks or food for their children. This heartbreaking reality is one faced by many in our community—and Columbia Credit Union is determined to help.
How You Can Help
Starting October 31, every Columbia Credit Union branch and operations center will have donation bins available for non-perishable food items through November 29. These donations will be collected by the Clark County Food Bank, which partners with over 50 nonprofits and operates more than 100 distribution sites throughout the region. Want to make a cash donation? Visit ClarkCountyFoodBank.org to make a contribution.
Your contributions will help put nutritious food on the tables of families who are quietly struggling, allowing them to redirect their limited resources toward other essentials like clothing, warmth, and dignity.
Why It Matters
This food drive is more than just a seasonal gesture—it’s a reflection of Columbia Credit Union’s mission to bring people together and make life better for their communities. As a member-owned financial cooperative, Columbia CU believes that “Where you bank matters.” Your membership empowers timely, life-changing decisions like this one.
