What is Mobile Deposit?
Columbia Credit Union’s Mobile Deposit is a simple way to use a smartphone to deposit checks into your checking account. This can also be referred to as “remote deposit capture” or simply “deposit capture.”
Who can use Columbia’s Mobile Deposit?
In general, Mobile Deposit is available for personal account holders, who
- Are at least 18 years old
- Are in good standing
- Have an active checking that has been open at least 90 days with qualifying transactions and/or balances
- Have an email address on file
What devices support Mobile Deposit?
Columbia Credit Union’s Mobile Deposit is available within the iOS and Android apps. It can be used on an iPhone, iPad, Android smartphones and tablet. It is only available through the apps – not mobile web.
What are the fees for Mobile Deposit?
There are currently no costs to deposit checks through Mobile Deposit.
When will my deposit be credited to my account?
In general, Mobile Deposits received by 5 p.m. PST on a business day will receive immediate access to $200 of the checks you deposit and the rest will be available to you around 9 p.m. that same day. Mobile Deposits received after 5 p.m. or weekends and holidays will still have immediate access to $200 and the rest will be available around 9 p.m. the next business day. If we encounter any issues with your Mobile Deposit, we will contact you via email within one business day.
What are the limits?
There is no set limit on the number of checks that can be deposited through Mobile Deposit; however, only one check can be deposited per transaction. There are daily dollar limits, as well as seven-day and 30-day rolling limits. These limits are the same for all members who are eligible to use this service.
How do I know my limit?
If you exceed the limit, Mobile Deposit will notify you that the transaction cannot be completed and will disclose your current limit. The daily limit amount shows in the deposit screen and decreases as you make deposits. Please remember, limits can potentially change regularly and are not guaranteed.
What happens if I have a check that exceeds my limit?
These items can be deposited at Columbia Credit Union branches or ATMs, or they can be mailed to PO Box 324 Vancouver, WA 98666.
What do I do with my check after depositing using Mobile Deposit?
Once you have confirmed the deposited funds have been credited to your account, securely store the check for 14 days before destroying it.
